Coaches

Rhett has coached young players for more than 20 years. At Lincoln High School in San Diego he was on the staff that won a California state championship, and one of the players he coached there was Norman Powell. The two have stayed close since.

For the last ten years he has run his own training business, working with everyone from kids picking up a ball for the first time to high school, college and pro players.

At NP Elite he sets the direction of the program, trains the coaching staff so every team is taught the same way, and still coaches players of all ages.

Cedric was a McDonald's All-American at Mater Dei High School and a guard at UCLA, where he led the Pac-10 in assists. He played in the NBA for the Atlanta Hawks, then spent several seasons playing professionally overseas.

He has run his own training business for five years. With the 9U team he focuses on fundamentals, accountability, confidence and steady improvement.

Andrew played three years of varsity at Ontario High School, including a 60-point game, and earned a Division I scholarship to Cal State Northridge in 2007, where he played combo guard. He still plays in competitive leagues around Los Angeles.

Along with coaching 12U, he trains players one-on-one on skills, reading the game and confidence.

Steve played shooting guard, and he coaches the perimeter game: shooting, playing in transition and making good decisions with the ball.

His 10U Gold team practices hard and competes hard. He pushes players out of their comfort zone and expects them to understand why they're doing what they're doing.

Kyle coaches our 8U teams, where the job is building good fundamentals early and making sure every kid wants to come back next week.

He's the father of two boys who have played for the past five years, so he knows the parent side too. He grew up in England playing competitive soccer and brings the same focus on communication, work ethic and teamwork to basketball.
